Overview
Apharwat Peak sits at roughly 3,979 metres above Gulmarg, reached by the second phase of the Gulmarg Gondola from Kongdori. It is the destination that makes the Gondola one of the highest cable cars in the world: snow cover most of the year, panoramic views across the Pir Panjal range and, on a clear day, toward Nanga Parbat, and some of Asia's best lift-served off-piste skiing terrain in winter.

How to Reach Apharwat Peak
Apharwat is reached only by Phase 2 of the Gulmarg Gondola from Kongdori (itself reached by Phase 1 from Gulmarg village) - there is no road or trek route for general visitors. Phase 2 tickets are bought separately from Phase 1 at the base station and can sell out or be suspended in high wind or heavy snow, so building a flexible day is worth it. See our Gondola ticket booking guide for current phase pricing and timing.
