The Naranag Gangbal trek climbs from the ancient stone temples of Naranag, in the Wangat valley of Ganderbal, to the beautiful high-altitude lakes of Gangbal and Nundkol, which sit beneath the 5,142-metre Mount Harmukh. It is one of Kashmir's finest shorter treks - steep in places but rewarding, through meadow and forest to some of the valley's most revered alpine water. It can be done on its own or as the final leg of the Kashmir Great Lakes trek.
