Prices are per person from Srinagar, sold rates, and update when we reprice. Each package page names a sample hotel for every night, or similar if it is full.

• Fewer hotel changes. 3 of 3 packages stay at least two nights in a hill town, so bags are packed fewer times.
• Short drives. Srinagar to Gulmarg is about two hours; the Gulmarg to Pahalgam day goes via Srinagar with planned tea and rest stops, including the Pampore saffron fields.
• Level sightseeing. Mughal Gardens such as Nishat and Shalimar have benches and level paths and are reached by car; the Gulmarg meadow is a short walk from the hotels we use.
• Free afternoons on most days, so the trip can slow down if someone is tired.
• Houseboat night: Kashmir Senior Citizens 4N5D - Houseboat Night & 2N Gulmarg include a night on Dal Lake. You reach it by a short shikara crossing, so tell us about any difficulty with steps and we pick a houseboat with easier boarding.

Srinagar is at about 1,585 m, Pahalgam about 2,200 m and Gulmarg about 2,650 m; Gondola Phase 1 goes to Kongdori at about 3,080 m. Most healthy older travellers manage these heights without trouble, but anyone with heart or lung conditions should ask their doctor before the trip, and Gondola Phase 2 (to about 3,980 m) is best skipped. Carry regular medicines for the whole trip plus a few extra days, and a copy of prescriptions. Travel insurance is not part of our packages, so buy a policy that covers your age group. Flights or train fare to Srinagar, lunch, Gondola Phase 2, pony rides, and the Pahalgam union taxis to Betaab Valley, Aru and Chandanwari (fixed local rates, paid directly to the operator).
