Overview
Ganderbal is a district in central Kashmir along the Sind valley, and the gateway to Sonamarg and the Zoji La road toward Ladakh. Within the district are Manasbal Lake (one of the deepest in Kashmir), the revered Kheer Bhawani temple at Tulmulla, and the ancient temple ruins at Naranag, a trek base in the Wangat valley. It is a green, water-rich district close to Srinagar.
