Overview
Sinthan Top is a mountain pass at about 3,800 metres (12,500 ft) on the Anantnag - Kokernag - Kishtwar road (NH 244). It is about 130 km from Srinagar, a 4 to 5 hour drive through Achabal, Kokernag and Daksum, and is snow-capped for most of the year. There is no village at the top: visitors come for the snow, the meadows and the "360 degree" viewpoint that looks over both the Kashmir and Jammu sides. It is usually done as a long day trip from Srinagar or Pahalgam, or with a night in Kokernag or Daksum.
